Corrections, Takedowns & DMCA

Last updated:

We want what we publish to be accurate and to respect other people's rights. If you find a mistake or believe our content infringes your rights, here's how to tell us.

Who can make a request

  • Any reader who spots an error, an outdated figure or a broken link
  • People or companies who believe content about them is false or harms their privacy or reputation
  • Copyright owners, or people authorized to act for them
  • The owner of a social media post embedded on our site
  • Organizations or businesses mentioned in our content

How to request a correction or takedown

Every page has a "Request a correction or takedown" link at the bottom that brings you to this page. Email your request to [email protected]. We only need your name, the page URL and your message. You can also write to us at —.

To help us act quickly, include:

  • The part of the page you're concerned about (quoting the sentence is enough)
  • Why you believe it's wrong or violates your rights
  • For corrections: the correct information and, if possible, an official source
  • For rights claims: information showing you hold the rights or are acting for the person who does
  • For an embedded post: something showing the post is yours (for example, a link to it and an email or message from that account)

Response time

We respond to every correction and takedown request within 48 hours.

What happens next

  1. We check your request against the sources and fact list the content is based on.
  2. If we confirm an error, we fix it and add a note to the page showing the date and what changed.
  3. If the content infringes someone's rights or breaks the law, we remove it in whole or in part.
  4. If the owner of an embedded post asks, we remove the embed and keep only our own summary, or update the piece if needed.
  5. If there's a risk of serious harm, we may take the content down temporarily while we review it.
  6. If we decide not to act, we'll explain why in writing.

Calculator errors

If a calculator uses a wrong or expired rate or parameter, we verify it against the official source. Parameter changes are always approved by a member of our editorial team; until then, the calculator may show an "updating" notice.

Readings and interpretations

We don't store the personal interpretations shown in our reading, tarot, dream and astrology tools, so we can't look them up or correct them afterward. If an interpretation contained something inappropriate, tell us which tool you used and we'll tighten our checks.

We don't use news-site or wire-service text as a source, we quote word for word with attribution, and we never use AI to generate images of real events or people. If you still believe material on our site infringes your copyright, you can send a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) to our designated agent:

Designated agent: [email protected]

Your notice must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature, as the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on the owner's behalf
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
  3. Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough information for us to find it (such as the URL)
  4. Your contact information: address, telephone number and email address
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law
  6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf

Counter-notices

If material you provided or control was removed because of a copyright notice and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to our designated agent that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
  4. Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district where your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or that person's agent

Please note that under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly makes material misrepresentations in a notice or counter-notice may be liable for damages.

Other options

Contacting us isn't required before you pursue your rights with authorities or the courts. For requests about your own personal information, see our Privacy Policy.

Records

We keep requests and a record of what we did about them for up to 2 years.

Misuse

We may decline requests that contain false information or are filed on someone else's behalf without authorization.
